Safe House
The safe house is one the major programs that MGSH runs in reaching out, receiving and protecting girls in the most vulnerable situations of sexual violence.
The home provides a safe haven for survivors, offering them a supportive environment where they can live, receive medical care, access counseling and therapy, and become part of a caring family. Survivors are primarily referred to us by children’s services, law enforcement, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), court referrals, and our partner organizations.
Our target group is girls between the ages of 11 to 19 years. Coming into the house, these young survivors receive comprehensive support tailored to their needs. This includes temporary shelter for immediate safety, psychosocial support to address emotional and psychological well-being, and referrals for medical care and legal assistance. Additionally, we offer educational support to help them continue their learning, and work towards family reintegration to ensure a stable and supportive environment for their future.
