In July2023, Maisha Girls Safe House had the privilege of hosting the Australian Gender Ambassador and her team. She was joined by Wangu Kanaja, the Founder of the Wangu Kanja Foundation. This visit provided an important opportunity for her to see firsthand how the Safe House plays an important role in safeguarding and supporting survivors of sexual violence.

During their visit, we engaged in meaningful discussions about how the Kenyan government can tackle sexual violence in a more fair and effective way. These conversations are crucial for creating lasting change and ensuring that survivors receive the justice and support they need.

The significance of this visit extended beyond the discussions. It also marked the beginning of a new partnership with the Australian High Commission in Kenya.
