On October 11, 2022, we celebrated the International Day of the Girl Child by bringing together 100 girls from the City Carton informal settlement for a day of empowerment. This special event was dedicated to informing and inspiring the girls about their rights and responsibilities, equipping them with the knowledge they need to navigate their world with confidence.

Throughout the day, we held informative sessions on sexual violence, covering important topics such as recognizing the signs, preventive measures, reporting procedures, and how to act as active bystanders when witnessing instances of sexual violence in the community. The girls were provided with practical tools and resources that would empower them to protect themselves and support each other.

The event was not just about learning; it was also a day of connection and celebration. The girls engaged in lively discussions, danced, and enjoyed a delicious meal together, creating an atmosphere of togetherness and joy. The combination of educational activities and fun made the day both meaningful and enjoyable for every child involved.
