World Day Against Trafficking in Persons

In July, the global community observes the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons 2024, a vital occasion dedicated to raising awareness about human trafficking and its impact. In Kamukunji, this international day was echoed as a coalition of local organizations organized a significant awareness walk.

The walk, which saw the participation of survivors, advocates, and community allies, commenced at the DO’s office and proceeded to the California ICT Centre. Along the route, participants actively engaged with community members, highlighting the dangers and consequences of child trafficking that lead to the sexual exploitation of vulnerable children.

Guided by the 2024 theme, “Leave No Child Behind,” this event was a call to action. We urged community members to become vigilant and proactive in protecting children from falling victim to trafficking and exploitation specifically in Kamukunji.
