A visit from the Global Commission on Human Trafficking

Exciting Visit from the Global Commission on Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking!

In June 2024, Maisha Girls Safe House had the honor of welcoming the Global Commission on Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking, led by former UK Prime Minister Theresa May.

The visit was a significant milestone for MGSH, as Theresa May and the commission members toured our facilities, gaining first-hand insight into the care and support we provide. They also had the opportunity to meet with the brave girls in our safe house, learning about their journeys and the challenges they’ve overcome. Through engaging discussions, we shared our ongoing efforts, the obstacles we face, and the victories we celebrate daily in our mission to protect vulnerable young girls.

The Global Commission’s presence and support, with its vast international experience, offered encouragement and a broader perspective on how our work fits into the global fight against human trafficking. Their visit reinforced the importance of collaboration and solidarity in combating this issue and creating lasting change.  

Together, we are taking critical steps towards a safer world for all.
