World Day for Prevention and Healing from Child Sexual Exploitation, Abuse and Violence 2022.

World Day for Prevention and Healing from Child Sexual Exploitation, Abuse and Violence 2022.

On November 18th, in observance of the World Day for Prevention and Healing from Child Sexual Exploitation, Abuse, and Violence, we         organized a major walk to the Nairobi County government office and the National Assembly. This global day is dedicated to raising awareness and supporting survivors of child sexual abuse and exploitation, providing us with a vital platform to call for stronger child protection measures in our communities.

The walk attracted 250 participants, bringing together a diverse group of supporters, including representatives from various organizations, activists, lawyers, human rights defenders, government officials, community health workers, healthcare professionals, and survivors of sexual violence. Each participant was committed to the cause, adding urgency to our collective demand for change.

As we marched to the Nairobi County government office and the National Assembly, we presented the petitions to key officials, including Deputy Governor James Njoroge and Women Representative Esther Pasaris. These petitions called on the government to implement strategies and allocate resources specifically aimed at combating child sexual violence. We emphasized the need for immediate and sustained action to protect children and ensure their safety and well-being.

By gathering such a large and diverse group of supporters, we demonstrated a strong commitment to the cause and the collective strength of our voices. While this event marked a significant step in our advocacy journey, it also served as a reminder that there is still much work to be done.
